Publish a folder from GitHub

A Hostlo site can follow a GitHub repository, private ones included, and every push to its branch goes live by itself. It is free on every plan, with one repository per site.

Connect it

Ask your assistant: “Publish owner/repo with Hostlo.” The first time, it gives you a link: open it, press the button and approve the HostloAI app on GitHub. Then ask again and the site goes live.

A folder, published as it is

Hostlo publishes the folder you choose exactly as it is in the repository, which suits plain HTML sites and projects that commit their built files, such as a dist folder. Hostlo never runs your code on its servers. If your project needs a build step such as npm run build, the assistant gives you a ready GitHub Actions workflow: GitHub builds the site in your own repository, and Hostlo publishes the result.

What stays private

Only web files are published. Hidden files such as .env, files such as LICENSE or Makefile, and source maps stay out, and the assistant tells you which files were skipped. The top folder of the repository is published only when you ask for it.

Hostlo keeps no GitHub password or lasting token: each publish uses a token that can only read that one repository and expires within the hour.

Changing the site

While a site follows a repository, make changes in the repository. Edits from the chat are refused, because the next push would replace them.
